Role summary

Key responsibilities
- Organise the day to day running of the shift ensuring work flows through the department.
- Ensure instruments are processed in a timely manner.
- Work in the clean room or wash area alongside Sterile Services Assistants.
- Supervise the day to day activities of the Sterile Services on the Alexandra site through effective leadership, management of staff and resources.
- Deliver a high quality, cost effective service to the Acute and Community Trusts and other customers.
- Provide supervision, support and education to qualified and unqualified staff.
Essential criteria
- Following initial 6 month period must be prepared to undertake additional training to achieve nationally recognised qualifications
- Previous work in Sterile Services or clean room
- Manufacturing or similar department hospital setting

Job summary
Sterile Services provide Sterile Surgical instrumentation and sets to the Trust. The department washes, disinfects, assembles, packages and sterilises the instrumentation. There is a vacancy for a Sterile Services Supervisor at the HSDU department at the Alexandra Hospital, Redditch. The shift is 4pm-12pm Monday to Friday with flexibility to cover other shifts when required. The department is busy and fast paced where you need to think quickly and prioritise workload and the team. This is a physically demanding role with manual handling duties.
