Role summary
This role is for an IMS Business Change Manager within the newly formed Inventory Management System Team at United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will support the management and delivery of a new Inventory Management System (IMS) project, aiming to revolutionise stock control and flow of consumables. The role involves working across all Trust sites, supporting strategic deployment of inventory systems, and driving operational and strategic change for service improvement and savings. It requires a passion for business change, understanding of inventory management, and strong people skills to engage with diverse internal stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Support the IMS Project Manager and Senior Business Change Manager in the procurement, development, and implementation of the IMS.
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts and management of contract performance.
- Ensure organisational change drives project requirements.
- Work operationally at all Trust sites to deploy inventory management systems.
- Support setting strategies for deploying inventory management systems in various stock control areas.
- Lead support for internal stakeholders by managing the inventory system and e-catalogue.
Essential criteria
- General Education up to GCSE/A Level/Diploma or equivalent NVQ level (including Maths and English) or equivalent standard.
- Educated to Degree Level or equivalent experience.
- Evidence of ongoing personal and management development
- Working knowledge of project delivery and project governance.
- Working knowledge of procurement and performance management of contracts.
- Experience of effective team working and management of staff.
- Working knowledge and practical experience of project change control processes.
- Experience of producing meeting papers, including agendas, minutes, and maintaining action logs
- Experience of developing effective systems for efficient and effective administration.
- Maintaining accurate records using configuration management.
- Experience of generating reports and providing management information to support organisation decision making.
- Experience of working closely with leadership of varying seniority.
- Arranging meetings and/or events
- Understanding of project management specialist competencies including risk management, planning/scheduling, change control and project governance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and document presentation skills.

Desirable criteria
- Qualification in Project Management such as PRINCE2 Foundation Qualification
- Experience of working in the NHS or health sector in a project related capacity.
- Maintaining project risk logs with awareness of structured risk management techniques.
- Experience of handling personal / confidential information in accordance with Data Protection Act.
- Project planning competencies, including estimating and scheduling, including critical path analysis.
- Working knowledge of stakeholder engagement and effective communication.
- Negotiates and influences effectively with internal and external contacts.
- An understanding of Supply Chain Management processes.

Job summary
We have a wide Procurement team at United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals, comprising a Clinical Procurement Team & Clinical Procurement Specialist Team, Non-Clinical Procurement Team, Operational Procurement Team, Capital, Estates & Facilities Procurement Team and the Supply Chain/Materials Management Team. We have a newly created Inventory Management System Team which reside under Deputy Head of Supply Chain and works alongside the Supply Chain Team. We are seeking to appoint the IMS Business Change Manager to work as part of this newly formed team and to assist the procurement vision to deliver a state of the art Inventory Management System. The IMS Business Change Manager will play an active role in supporting the management and delivery of the new Inventory Management System (IMS) project in support of the Trust's business and service objectives.
