Role summary
This role involves supervising the Sterile Services team at Glan Clwyd Hospital, ensuring compliance with ISO 13485:2016 and the departmental Quality Management System. The supervisor will assess, organise, and plan daily workflow to maximise resource usage and efficient operation. They will also provide training to colleagues and deputise for the Sterile Services Manager when needed. The post requires extensive knowledge of sterile services requirements and procedures.
Essential criteria
- Decontamination Sciences (IDSc) Technical Certificate or NVQ 3 Decontamination or equivalent level of Decontamination knowledge or equivalent experience
- Decontamination SSD supervisors / managers (to NHS guidance) course
Desirable criteria
- Desire to work towards recognised NVQ's preferably acceptable to IDSc Standard
- Experience in staff management
- Ability to train Staff
- Knowledgeable in sterile services processed and procedures
- Knowledgeable of all work instructions and quality management systems
- Experience in Sterile services
- Desire to undertake management studies
- Aptitude & Abilities
- Ability to develop skills quickly
- Effective communication skills

Job summary
We are recruiting 2 x Full-Time Sterile Services Supervisors. This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work within a well-established Sterile Services team at Glan Clwyd Hospital.
The Sterile Services Supervisor will have extensive knowledge and skills of requirements for the product in line with the ISO 13485:2016 standard. They will support the management team in ensuring staff conform to the departmental Quality Management System, hospital policy and procedures, highlighting immediately any areas of concern.
The post holder will be responsible for assessing, organising, and planning the daily workflow within the sterile services department to ensure maximum usage of resources and the efficient and effective operation of the department.
They will provide training to senior and junior colleagues and act as a resource to support the technicians to reduce the Departmental and individuals' non-conformances.
The post holders will be expected to deputise in their absence with the support of the Sterile services Manager.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
