Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Education Mental Health Practitioner to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people across educational and healthcare settings in Hampshire. Essential criteria
- *Ability to study at degree level (requirement by University and verified by University at application stage).
- *Proven record of previous academic attainment.
- *Good solid basic literacy and numeracy qualifications which is assessed on entry by the University.
- *Previous experience of working with children, young people, and/or adults experiencing mental health difficulties, with an understanding of how mental health challenges can affect emotional wellbeing, daily functioning, education, employment, and social engagement.

Job summary
In line with the government's priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) role is an exciting opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors in England. Due to a long term expansion plan, we currently have a number of opportunities across Hampshire to recruit to this exciting role. Successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term 1 year full-time with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and based across various locations within Hampshire where we are recruiting to new Mental Health Support teams to deliver mental health support a cross a range of educational settings in the region.
Our locations are:
- Mid North : Basingstoke, Hook and Odiham, Alton and Petersfield, Andover and Winchester
- West: Eastleigh, Romsey and District and New Forest
- South East: Fareham, Havant and Gosport
- Southampton City
