Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Prostate Cancer team. The role involves providing expert clinical care, coordinating patient care, and delivering education and support to patients and their families throughout the prostate cancer pathway. The specialist will work closely with consultants and allied health professionals to ensure patient-centred care and contribute to service development.
Essential criteria
- Registered General Nurse
- Degree in healthcare related subject
- Evidence of Masters level learning
- Post-basic qualification in cancer/palliative care or relevant specialist subject
- Advanced Communications Skills training or prepared to work towards
- Leadership experience
Desirable criteria
- MSc Clinical Examination
- Psychological skills training - level 2 or above
- Msc Research qualification
- Relevant post registration experience, in cancer, palliative care or the specialty
- Experience of teaching
- In-depth specialist knowledge
- Experience of multi-professional working.
- Leadership and/or Management experience
- Evidence of advanced communications skills
- Ability to lead and influence change
- HNA training
- Experience of writing policies and procedures
- Experience of working as a clinical nurse specialist
- Experience of audit and research
- Understanding of Macmillan Cancer Support and it's role across the UK
- Knowledge and Expertise
- In depth understanding of evidence based practice and ability to critically appraise and implement research findings into practice
- Extensive knowledge of national standards and policies within specialist field.
- Evidence of continued professional development

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Prostate Cancer team for a energetic and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Specialist working on a permanent contract over part-time hours
This opportunity will look to support our established Prostate Clinical Team in the ongoing care of those diagnosed with prostate cancer.
Working pattern is likely to be Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Main duties of the job
The Prostate Clinical Nurse Specialist, will play a vital role in the assessment, treatment, and ongoing support of patients diagnosed with prostate cancer and other prostate-related issues. They will work closely with consultants, surgeons, and allied health professionals to deliver patient-centred care, education, and symptom management.
