An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Porters to join our team at Inverurie Hospital, Aberdeenshire. Occasionally there may be a requirement to assist at other hospital sites within NHS Grampian, therefore flexibility is required.

Working Pattern

Week 1: Mon 07:00-17:00, Tue 07:30-17:00, Sat 08:30-12:30, Sun 08:30-12:30.

Week 2: Wed 07:00-17:00, Thu 07:30-17:00, Fri 07:00-17:00.

The successful applicant will be expected to participate in winter on-call maintenance from November to March each year to support gritting and snow clearance across the hospital site.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transport blood samples to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
  • Ensure the safe movement of medical equipment
  • Transport clinical waste and dangerous materials
  • Collect pharmacy items from local pharmacies and Aberdeen Royal Infirmary
  • Handle medical gases
  • Manage the handling and distribution of stores and linen
