Role summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Speech and Language Therapist to develop advanced clinical skills within a highly specialist service. The role involves delivering specialist assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for adults with complex communication, swallowing, and voice needs across various clinical environments, including spinal injury services and community settings. You will contribute to the expanding neuromuscular pathway and the development of a specialist speech and language therapy service, working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Essential criteria

  • Degree or equivalent in Speech and Language Therapy
  • Registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
  • Evidence of specialist clinical training in relevant areas
  • Work experience
  • Evidence of broad range of pre and post qualification experience
  • Evidence of experience in relevant area of clinical practice - dysphagia, video fluoroscopy and tracheostomy
  • Evidence of teaching/student experience
  • Experience in audit and research
  • Evidence of CPD (portfolio) detailing clinical experience relevant to the post.
  • Knowledge of current NHS strategy and plans
  • Knowledge and understanding of Clinical Governance
  • Evidence of Specialist level of clinical reasoning
  • Knowledge of current Evidence Based Practice relevant to post
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • IT skills relevant to the role
