Role summary

This is an exciting new part-time post on the neonatal unit, working closely with the Safeguarding Maternity Team. The role focuses on providing safe discharge for babies with safeguarding concerns, aligning with the new Social Care Reforms - Family First Partnership Programme. The post holder will promote and identify early intervention and support for families on the neonatal unit.

  • Specialist Community Public Health Degree
  • Experience and knowledge
  • Working knowledge of NHS policies and national agendas relating to newborns and Children Safeguarding Practice.

  • Manage patient care/caseloads which requires multi-disciplinary input

Job summary

Exciting new post working closely with the Safeguarding Maternity Team on the neonatal unit.

The post will be to provide safe discharge to those babies where there is some element of safeguarding. it will be aligned to the new Social Care Reforms - Family First Partnership Programme.

The post will be to promote and identify early intervention and support for families on the neonatal unit

Main duties of the job

To work closely with the neonatal discharge nurse as well as the safeguarding team.

To contribute to multi agency meetings. MARAC, Discharge Planning, Maternity Care Planning etc

Work closely with social care, health visitors and midwives to embed the practical implementation of the maternity safeguarding agenda.
