Role summary
This role is for an experienced Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapist to join the Paediatric Physiotherapy Team at Royal Brompton Hospital. The post holder will manage a complex caseload of difficult asthma and general paediatric respiratory outpatients, working autonomously while contributing to service development. It involves leadership, supervision of staff and students, and active participation in audit and research within a multidisciplinary team.
Essential criteria
- Equivalent or equal to a degree in Physiotherapy
- Health and Care Professional council registration
Desirable criteria
- Member of CSP
- Member of ACPRC
- Member of ACPC
- Member of another special interest group relating to respiratory care
- Considerable post graduate experience
- Significant cardiorespiratory/cardiothoracic experience.
- Significant paediatric respiratory experience.
- Evidence of CPD
- Understanding of cardiorespiratory physiology and pathophysiology specific to post
- Relevant validated clinical courses accredited as equivalent to masters level
- Relevant clinical courses in paediatric respiratory care
- Core skills in cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy
- Ability to assess and treat complex patients in the paediatric respiratory/critical care field
- Sound clinical decision making and reasoning.
- Leadership experience
- Negotiation and Conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work independently
- Able to organise and prioritise own workload
- Experience in delegating appropriately to others
- Supervision of students
- Ability to pass on skills/knowledge to others within formal and informal environments
- Able to work actively within a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills

Job summary
We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled, and forward-thinking Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapist to join our Paediatric Physiotherapy Team. The role would suit an experienced Band 6 or existing Band 7 Physiotherapist interested in expanding their skills and knowledge in difficult asthma, breathing pattern disorders and general respiratory outpatients . Secondments will be considered.
The post holder will work as an integral and active part of the Paediatric Physiotherapy team in the provision of a patient-centred outpatient service that includes a caseload of difficult asthma and general paediatric respiratory outpatients.
Main duties of the job
In this role you will work alongside some of the top cardio-respiratory specialist health care practitioners in the UK and Europe. You will contribute to the maintenance and development of the Physiotherapy Service in conjunction with the Clinical Specialist in Paediatric Respiratory Physiotherapist- Outpatients at the Royal Brompton Hospital. Teamwork and excellent communication skills are vital to the role, you will also be supported by the fantastic wider Paediatric multidisciplinary team.
