Role summary
This is a permanent, full-time position for an HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to join the Clinical Biochemistry team. The role involves supporting services across Bedford and Luton hospital sites, participating in a 24/7 shift rota after training, and contributing to high-quality clinical science. Essential criteria
- Completed an Institute of Biomedical Scientist (IBMS) accredited degree (BSc) in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent and demonstrable experience at BMS level.
- Completed an IBMS portfolio
- Knowledge of Clinical Biochemistry Procedures. Experience of working in a BMS role in Biomedical Science
- Other
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, at all levels.
- Good listening skills
- Knowledge of Biomedical Science
- Fully conversant within the Biomedical methodology, and ability to work without supervision, but within the parameters of the role descriptor.
- Accurate input of data while working under pressure

- Personal skills

Job summary
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist to join our Clinical Biochemistry team, supporting services across both hospital sites. This is a permanent, full-time position, primarily based at Bedford Hospital, with an expectation to work at the Luton & Dunstable site as required to meet service needs.
Following completion of training, the successful candidate will participate in the 24/7 shift rota, providing essential clinical biochemistry services to patients across the Trust.
