Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an innovative and inspirational clinical pharmacist to join the Mental Health Pharmacy Team at Glangwili General Hospital. The role involves working across various mental health specialties, including adult acute wards, older adult wards, and psychiatric intensive care units. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient-centred care and contribute to the medicines optimisation strategy. Previous mental health experience is not essential, and successful candidates will receive support to develop specialist knowledge and skills.
Key responsibilities
- Join the Mental Health Pharmacy Team at Glangwili General Hospital.
- Work across a wide range of mental health specialties, including adult acute wards, older adult wards, psychiatric intensive care unit, and low secure unit.
- Work closely with Community Mental Health Teams, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs).
- Contribute to the planning and delivery of the medicines optimisation strategy.
- Travel between sites to support services across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, and Ceredigion.
Essential criteria
- Masters degree in pharmacy (4 years) or equivalent experience or qualifications
- Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council
- Professional knowledge of medicines managements systems and process in an integrated NHS
- Experience of teaching & supervision of pharmacists, technicians, assistants and students
- Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent experience or qualifications
- Knowledge of specialist area as described in job advert
- Flexibility to undertake emergency duty including weekends, Bank Holiday and evening opening
- Have a flexible approach
- Travel between sites and outside organization
- Understands and shows commitment to continuing professional development
- Highly developed knowledge and experience of health care
- Demonstrate achievement in at least one area of specialist medicines management

- Accredited Pre-registration Tutor
- Accredited Diploma Pharmacy Tutor
- Independent Prescriber
- Demonstrate achievement in more than one area of specialist medicines management
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
