Role summary

Essential criteria

- Smoking cessation level 2 training

- Understanding of the drivers of ill health and mental health.

Job summary
The principal role of the post holder will be to work with the Trust's Physical health support team and Public health Lead to deliver health improvement work streams that improve health and reduce inequalities in health across the trust
They will support the day to day running of the Trust's Tobacco Dependency Service to ensure safe, well organised and evidenced based care is offered routinely to all identified smokers and provided to all that access the service. In line with the NHS long term plan to tackle tobacco dependency, the postholder with support the service and will work with inpatient services to deliver support for any of the BSMHFT service users that require health improvement interventions. S This will include an understanding of working with service users subject to the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act legislation.
They will provide support in a range of settings as required for the delivery of service. They will organize the workload allocated to them and seek advice when needed from the Public health team manager whilst working under the direct clinical supervision of the Public health lead. They will maintain a high standard of work and prioritise own workload according to the needs of the service, individual needs including equality, diversity, and social inclusion in all aspects of work.
