Role summary
This role is for a Band 3 Special Needs Health Care Assistant at The Hive College, supporting students aged 19-25 with complex health and learning needs. Essential criteria
- Good standard of GCSE passes including English at C or above
- NVQ in Care /social care Level 3 or equivalent

Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Special Needs Health Care Assistant based at The Hive College to support the needs of students aged 19-25 with complex health and learning needs.
The working hours are 26.0 hours/week over 4 days (Mon; Tues; Weds & Fri), 6.5 hours per day Term-Time only. No weekend work is required for this role.
If you have an NVQ level 3 in Care/Social Care and experience of working with adults, especially young adults with complex additional health needs, we would like to hear from you!
Full competency-based training will be given to the successful applicant.
Main duties of the job
o Assist with nursing care, including delegated clinical procedures as set out in the Care Plan and following appropriate competency-assessed training.
o Undertake enteral feeding in accordance with prescribed feeding regimes, including feeding type, volume, rate, and timing. Check tube placement and ensure the tube is safe to use in accordance with local guidance.
o Administer prescribed medications via PEG or gastrostomy tubes safely, including appropriate preparation, flushing, and compatibility checks. Monitor for and respond to potential complications, such as tube blockage, displacement, infecti
