Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 3 Nursing Support Worker to join the Leg Ulcer Service in Ceredigion. The role involves delivering high-standard, cost-effective nursing care under the supervision of qualified nurses. You will follow care plans and treatment interventions to ensure safe, individualised, and effective patient care. The successful applicant will work flexibly within the team and develop skills through training and support.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver high standard, cost effective nursing care under the supervision of the Team Leader or delegated representative.
- Ensure patients receive safe, individualised and effective standards of care by following care plans and treatment interventions.
- Work without direct supervision within an agreed framework, as directed by the nurse in charge of the caseload.
- Communicate effectively at all times and in conjunction with other team members.
- Act as a role model for Student Nurses.
Essential criteria
- Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject or Equivalent experience and can evidence work based competency demonstrating theoretical knowledge, and the ability to undertake clinical care duties relevant for the role which is gained through experience and worked based training/short courses
- Knowledge of the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers in Wales and All Wales Delegation Guidelines (HEIW)
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures within a healthcare setting for example the principles of Safeguarding adults/children to keep patients within their care safe, and confidentiality for example General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
- Experience of working within a relevant heath or social care environment, providing direct patient care
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working with patient groups relevant to area of practice
- Experience of working within the NHS
- Welsh Speaker (Level 1)
