- Experience working with vulnerable groups (e.g. homelessness, substance misuse, mental health, immigration issues)
- Leadership and ability to act as a role model
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to organise, prioritise workload and work under pressure
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the service
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Awareness of key challenges in TB control in the UK
- Experience in developing clinical standards, protocols and guidelines

- Skills in service redesign and service improvement
- Full UK driving licence with access to a car

Job summary
The TB Nurse Specialist role is a highly specialised clinical post within the TB service at Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust, covering Merton, Sutton, Epsom, Ewell and Leatherhead. The post holder is responsible for delivering a high-quality, accessible and responsive tuberculosis nursing service aimed at reducing the impact of TB across the population.
The role involves providing expert, individualised care, treatment and support to patients with TB and their families/carers, working both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless and timely care in line with local and national standards.
The post holder plays a key role in promoting excellence in nursing practice through advanced clinical expertise, education, consultancy, and acting as a specialist resource and role model. The role also contributes to research, audit, and quality assurance initiatives to continuously improve service delivery and patient outcomes.
