Role summary
This role is for a Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist specializing in Chronic Pain Management within the Integrated Musculoskeletal, Pain and Rheumatology Service (IMPReS) at East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust. You will assess patients, deliver highly skilled treatments, and provide education, primarily based at Burnley General. The position offers opportunities to develop clinical and leadership skills, with regular supervision and protected development time. It is a fixed-term contract for 9 months.
Essential criteria
- Good written English
- Diploma/Degree level in Physiotherapy
- Health and Care Professionals Council Registration
- Access to own transport for work purposes
Desirable criteria
- Membership of the Charted Society of Physiotherapy
- Clinical Educators course
- Appropriate post graduate clinical courses linked to speciality
- Experience in core rotations e.g. medicine, surgery, orthopaedics, neurology
- Experience and evidence of knowledge of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions
- Experience of MDT working
- Contributed to clinical development of less experienced staff or students or assistants
- Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate
- Ability to keep accurate and comprehensive records in line national standards and local policy
- Able to present information, written and orally in a clear and logical manner
- Awareness of developments in NHS and service delivery
- Demonstrates IT literacy to an appropriate level
- Ability to cope working in a stressful environment and with emotional or aggressive patients and carers
- NHS MSK experience
- Involvement in special interest group
- Completion of clinical educators course
- Evidence of participation in service developments

The Integrated Musculoskeletal, Pain and Rheumatology Service (IMPReS) covers the East Lancashire footprint of Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, Hyndburn, Ribble Valley, Blackburn and Darwen. Our purpose is to make a difference to patient's lives and have a commitment to put patient care at the heart of what we do.
We welcome applications from suitably qualified HCPC registered physiotherapists who have a passion for MSK physiotherapy in Chronic pain Management
This is a great opportunity to develop your clinical and leadership skills. As our service is delivered mainly from Burnley General site, you will have the opportunity to work with various members of the IMPReS team to develop your skills. This post will be initially based at Burnley General. All staff have to be flexible to work across all sites if there is a service need .
We offer weekly complex patient clinics to support the management of patients, regular supervision, and protected development time. We have a desire to cultivate compassionate leadership at all levels of our team and value all staff and their contributions to continually improve our service.
