Job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 midwife to join our Birth Centre (midwifery-led unit) team. Must be able to demonstrate excellent decision making and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with the multi-disciplinary team, to facilitate safe care and provide an enhanced patient experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills in supporting physiological birth, within a bio-psycho-social model of care and minimise unnecessary interventions. You will be supported by the core Birth Centre team including Band 7s and Matron and contribute to the provision of midwife-led care at Imperial.

Specifically working at the Birth Centre will enable you to:

  • Gain confidence in facilitating water births.
  • Gain confidence in facilitating active births.
  • Gain confidence in working autonomously and knowing when to refer to MDT.
  • Gain confidence in counselling women with personalised care plans.
