Role summary
This role involves coordinating and organising the day-to-day activities of domestic staff, acting as the first point of contact for Domestic Assistants. The supervisor will ensure the provision of high-quality cleaning services, supervise and train staff, and audit cleaning processes according to National Standards of Cleanliness. They will also assist the Assistant Hotel Services Manager and make decisions in their absence. The position is 35 hours per week, working on a rota.
Key responsibilities
- Co-ordinate and organise day to day activities of the operation staff within the department.
- Act as the first point of contact for Domestic Assistants (and Portering Assistants when working in the community).
- Provide the best quality cleaning services to the environment within the Health Board's premises.
- Supervise, train and audit cleaning processes with Domestic Assistants in various areas.
- Monitor and sustain best cleaning practices and ensure standards are met.
- Provide assistance to the Assistant Hotel Services Manager (Domestic) and make responsible decisions in their absence.
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
- Previous cleaning experience in Health Care setting
- Previous Supervisory Experience
- Meets all essential criteria as per attached job description/person specification

Job summary
In conjunction with peers, co-ordinate and organise day to day activities of the operation staff within the department and to support the development of a cost effective customer responsive service.
The overall purpose of the job is to work as part of a team and to be the first point of contact for the Domestic Assistants. When working in the community this will also include Portering Assistants.
To be committed to take part in providing the best quality cleaning services to the environment within the Health Board's premises. To share leaned practices with others in developing cleaning services as changes are made over time to allow the department and individuals to react to changing needs.
To use skills to the best advantage when supervising, training and auditing cleaning processes with Domestic Assistants in a variety of areas from very high risk to low risk as classified by the National Standards of Cleanliness that require management of different audit lead times. To monitor and sustain best cleaning practices and ensure that self and others provide this to the standard required.
