Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the Urology Outpatients department. The role involves supporting clinicians, assisting with procedures, and ensuring the smooth running of clinics across multiple sites. Responsibilities include undertaking nurse-led clinics, coordinating the department, and performing various clinical skills such as catheterisation and bladder instillations. Full training will be provided, and excellent communication skills are essential for working within a multidisciplinary team.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse 1st or 2nd level (NMC)
- Able to show evidence of professional development
- Effective communication skills, both written & verbal
- Basic IT skills
- Ability to work flexibly across both sites with the occasional requirement to cover spoke sites
Desirable criteria
- Outpatient or urology experience
- Male and female catheterisation or willingness to undertake training - as this will be essential to role
- Competence in venepuncture /cannulation or willingness to undertake training
- Experience of co-ordinating/taking charge as a staff nurse

Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 5 Staff Nurse to join our Urology Outpatients department. The successful candidate will support clinicians in delivering high-quality patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring the smooth running of clinics. The role will involve a variety of clinical responsibilities and full training will be provided.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team are essential. We are also seeking a candidate with a flexible approach and the ability to respond to the demands of a rapidly changing outpatient department.
You will be working within our specialised urology departments at our 2 main Urology outpatient sites: Royal Blackburn Hospital and Urology Investigations Unit at Burnley General Hospital, you may also be required to support our Urology clinics at Rossendale OPD.
Main duties of the job
The role will involve undertaking nurse led clinics, the coordinating and running of a busy outpatient department in the absence of the outpatient sister or manager. A variety of clinical skills will be essential including, male and female catheterisation, trial without catheter, bladder instillation's, flow rate clinics and assisting our Clinical Nurse Specia
