Role summary
This is an opportunity for a skilled and motivated Registered Professional to join the Safeguarding Team at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. The role involves working primarily with the Safeguarding Adult's function, with an aspiration to work across both adult and children's safeguarding. The successful candidate will provide expert advice, support, and training to colleagues, and ensure effective communication with safeguarding boards. This position requires in-depth knowledge of safeguarding and advanced analytical skills.
Essential criteria
- NMC Registered Nurse RGN/RMN/RNLD, Registered Social worker or Registered HCPC AHP.
- Relevant degree or working towards or demonstrate equivalent in experience and knowledge
- Experience working with adults at risk and/or children
- Experience of delivering training.
- EXPERIENCE e.g. Breadth of occupational experience
- Experience of working in a clinical area in community or acute as a Band 6 with a minimum of 3 years' experience in that grade.
- Knowledge of local and national guidance and research in relation to Safeguarding Children and/or Adults.
- Knowledge of legal framework and of political and policy changes affecting Safeguarding Children and/or Adults.
- Knowledge of data protection and NHS code of confidentiality.
- Experience of working with safeguarding policies and procedures.
- Experience with close liaison with multi-disciplinary teams and multiagency staff.
- Awareness and understanding of the wider health and safety, clinical risk, and quality issues.
- Awareness and understanding of equality and diversity.
- SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE e.g., Communication skills, excellent organisation skills, etc
- Excellent interpersonal skills to enable effective working with all groups and all levels of staff, other agencies and public.
- Ability to self-manage workload and ensure it is prioritised, as well as escalating when appropriate
- IT Literacy skills sufficient to produce reports, conduct research and communicate via e-mail
- Ability to facilitate learning in others using a variety of methods
- Ability to analyse issues / problems and devise and implement appropriate plan of action
- Communicates openly, honestly, and professionally, and actively promotes team working and building strong working relationships
- Patients are always first. Drives service improvements. Strong self-awareness with a desire to grow.
- SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES e.g., Ability to work internal rotation
- Full UK Driving License to enable travel between sites and off site meetings
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING eg Education, professional qualifications

Job summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust to appoint a skilled, motivated, and enthusiastic Registered Professional to join the Safeguarding Team.
The Safeguarding Practitioner will be an experienced practitioner with in-depth knowledge of adults at risk and child protection and advanced analytical skills for safeguarding acquired through specialist courses and experiential learning from interagency work.
As part of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust's Safeguarding Team, the successful post holder will be provided with a thorough induction package and professional development opportunities in the area of Safeguarding.
The role will be office based with some opportunity for hybrid working depending on the needs of the service.
Main duties of the job
The main purpose of this post is to primarily work with the Safeguarding Adult's function of the team however there is an aspiration for practitioners to be able to work across both adult and children's functions in the future, therefore this is an all-age practitioner role.
