Role summary

This role involves leading the Pensions Team to provide a high-quality, cost-effective pensions service to University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust and its clients. Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice and guidance to support Trust employees and the employer to understand, implement and communicate changes to pension's as per NHS Pensions & Nest T&C's and guidance.
  • Contribute to the management of the Pensions Team, development and continuous improvement of the Trusts Pensions Service to the Trust and Clients.
  • Ensure a high quality cost effective service with regard to Pensions and all related issues.
  • Provide a full and comprehensive transactional Service.
  • Provide a full pension service [involving manual input and calculation] to approximately 500 employees.
  • Liaise with all NHS employees and also external agencies such as NHSPA, HMRC. DWP, banks, building societies, solicitors and other financial institutions involved with the pensions industry.

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrate and show Communication skills , Team Work, Relationships
  • Provide and understand complex calculations and reports
  • Significant Pensions experience NHS, Nest LGPS.
  • Competent in pension skills, a working knowledge of Pension systems, understanding pensions information on payslips,
  • Have previous supervisory Experience
  • Have worked on Large Payroll/Pensions Systems.
  • Computer skills, including experience using Excel, Word, ESR, NHS Pensions, Nest, LGPS
  • Planning, Organisational, Leadership, Training, Team Meeting, Setting tasks and deadlines

  • Experience of working in a NHS Pensions Dept

A full and comprehensive transactional Service applies to University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation.

Provision of a full pension service [involving manual input and calculation] to approximately 500 employees paid by ISS on behalf of University Hospitals of Derby & Burton NHS Foundation Trust.
