Role summary
This role involves carrying out pharmaceutical technical duties within the pharmacy department, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality service for patients and staff. The Senior Pharmacy Technician will also undertake training and accreditation in technical skills and supervise rotational pharmacy technicians. Key responsibilities include dispensing prescriptions, contributing to accuracy checking, and assisting with medicines management on wards.

- Ability to work Saturday/Sunday working on a rota basis.
- Ability to cope with occasional exposure to unpleasant smells and potential allergens.
- Skills and Abilities
- Able to work on own initiative.
- Recognise own limitations.
- Able to work as a member of a team.
- Qualification and Training
- NVQ 3 or equivalent (e.g. BTech) or knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures acquired through training in equivalent pharmaceutical science and recent relevant work experience.
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Evidence of CPD.

To be eligible for this post you must be a GPhC registered Pharmacy Technician with 2 years post registration experience. Consideration will be given to the appropriate candidate to be employed on a Band 4 to 5, 12-month STEP programme should they not have full post registration experience
