Role summary

This is a part-time Team Secretary role within the Women's and Children's collaborative, specifically based in the Gynaecology Team at Cumberland Infirmary. The successful candidate will provide efficient administration and effective support to the Medical Secretary, assisting with day-to-day Gynae admin tasks. Key responsibilities include achieving a 48-hour turnaround for clinical letters, forward clinic preparation, elective bookings, and general office duties like managing phones and emails. The role requires an experienced secretary, ideally with medical terminology knowledge and familiarity with NCIC admin systems.

  • Audio typing / word processing.

  • GCSE English language (minimum C grade) or equivalent.
  • RSA 2 word processing or equivalent.

  • NVQ 3 in administration or equivalent

  • Willing to travel cross site of work and or meetings

Job summary

A Team Secretary role within the Women's and Children's collaborative has arisen, this role is to be based within the Gynaecology Team. Ideally an experienced Team Secretary with medical terminology knowledge, as well as knowledge of NCIC admin systems and processes, including RTT pathways and Text flow.

As a team secretary you will provide efficient administration and effective support to the Medical Secretary, assisting in the smooth completion of the day to day Gynae Admin.

Main duties of the job

The team currently consists of Medical Secretary, Team Secretary and Clerk typist, working alongside Consultants, Nurse Practitioners, etc to achieve Business Unit objectives including a 48 hour turnaround of clinical letters, forward clinic preparation, elective bookings and general office admin duties including phones and emails etc.
