Role summary

This is an exciting part-time opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the integrated inpatient therapy department at Hillingdon Hospital. The role involves assessing, treating, and discharging patients, working closely with their support networks and multidisciplinary colleagues. You will primarily be based on the Acute Medical Unit, but may cover other wards as needed. The position is for 18 hours and 45 minutes per week.

Essential criteria

  • Meets essential qualifications
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS
  • Extensive post-registration experience of O.T.
  • Experience and evidence of successfully working within an MDT team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Evidence of understanding of theory and practice delivery of OT on AMU

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Therapy Team at Hillingdon Hospital for a part time band 6.

We are seeking a band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our friendly, integrated inpatient therapy department. The therapy department is the third largest staff group within the Trust and is widely respected. As a Occupational Therapist, you will play an essential part in the assessment, treatment, and discharge of patients. You will work closely with the patient, their support network, and Multidisciplinary colleagues to achieve a positive outcome.

You will primarily be based on the Trust's Acute Medical Unit but may cover Older Adult and Neurology wards as the service demands.

This is a part time position for 18 hours and 45 minutes per week.

Main duties of the job

Main Tasks and Responsibilities

To complete the OT process on the Acute Medical Unit, with a complex and varied caseload. You maybe asked to work else where within the Trust and be part of the 7 day service that is in development.

Clinical

To autonomously complete the OT process with patients including:

o Comprehensive physical and cognitive assessment of needs

o Provide individualised and specialised treatments to patients on your caseload, which will include a var
