Role summary
This role is for a motivated Healthcare Support Worker to join the Perinatal Mental Health Service Team's Mother and Baby Unit. You will provide 24/7 specialist care and treatment for mothers with mental illness and their babies. The role involves providing high-quality care, perinatal support, and emotional support to antenatal and post-natal mothers. You will also help families understand baby's perspective and provide practical baby care.
Key responsibilities
- Working as a team player.
- Provide perinatal support to antenatal and post-natal mothers in the ward.
- Provide high quality of care and emotional support at all times.
- Participate in assessment of needs, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for mothers and their babies.
- To maintain our service users' confidentiality and adhere the Trust's Policies and Procedures.
- Help supporting families to understand baby's perspective.
Essential criteria
- Level 2 qualification or equivalent in a relevant
- area gained through experience, on the job
- training, short courses and completion of work
- based competencies.

Our Perinatal Mental Health Service Team -- Mother and Baby Unit currently has an exciting opportunity to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Support Workers to join the team.
Our Mother and Baby Unit provide 24/7 specialist care and treatment for mothers with their babies when they are suffering with mental illness.
On the Mother and Baby Unit you will be joining an extremely supportive, nurturing, and motivated team. We are consistently striving to improve our service and provide the best possible care for the mothers and babies we support and their wider families. We value every member of our team, our childcare practitioners are a vital part of our MDT and ensure the voice of the baby remains central to all decision making, your input and contribution will be listened to and valued.
We support the growth and development of our staff and offer a wealth of training to support our staff to become experts within this specialist field and reach their full potential.
