Role summary
This role is for a motivated Band 6 Occupational Therapist specializing in moving and handling. You will deliver person-centered assessments and interventions within social care and health legislation, managing a diverse caseload including highly complex cases. The position involves working autonomously across various settings, utilizing specialist clinical skills to support individuals in living safely and independently. You will collaborate with NHS colleagues, social care teams, and other partners to provide integrated and holistic care.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out specialist moving and handling assessments and reviews in both community and hospital settings.
- Develop and implement effective, person-centered solutions that promote independence, including specialist equipment and tailored care packages.
- Manage a diverse caseload, including highly complex cases, in line with relevant legislation and best practice.
- Work as an autonomous practitioner, demonstrating strong problem solving, clinical reasoning, and independent decision making skills.
- Explore innovative, collaborative ways of working across general practice, acute and community health, social care, and voluntary and private sector partners.
Essential criteria

- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
