Role summary
This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to research aimed at improving care and long-term wellbeing for families affected by neonatal intensive care. The post holder will manage and deliver a 3-year study, supporting participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis for intervention development. Working with a multidisciplinary team, you will help generate evidence to influence neonatal care and family support services. This position combines clinical expertise with research delivery, making a meaningful difference to families during challenging times. We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and proactive registered nurse with excellent communication skills and experience in neonatal care, family wellbeing, and mental health.
Essential criteria
- Registered nurse or health professional or first degree in life sciences
- Educated to degree level in relevant subject area or equivalent experience
- Educated to degree level in relevant subject area or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Non-medical prescribing
- Advanced practice qualification
- Minimum of 2 year at band 5 in a relevant clinical area
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Knowledge of National Institute of Health Research (NIHR), its values, aims and structure
- Experience in managing complex information
- Clinical Research and audit experience
- Proven participation in the consent process for patients entering clinical trials
- Experience in Qualitative Research methods
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge of specialist patient group
- Able to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Ability to work autonomously and as a member of a small team, as well as part of the wider multidisciplinary team
- Ability to work across boundaries, integrating with multidisciplinary staff in relation to research trials
- Change management skills and involvement in project work

The post holder will play a key role in the delivery and management of the study over 3 years, supporting participant recruitment and engagement, data collection, analysis of data to support intervention development.
