Role summary

This role is for an experienced midwife to manage the Antenatal and Postnatal ward within an 'Outstanding' CQC-rated maternity service. The successful candidate will work closely with the matron, leading a diverse team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based, and woman-centred midwifery care. The position requires strong clinical and managerial leadership, with a focus on safeguarding, infection control, and clinical governance. Essential criteria

  • BSc in Midwifery
  • NIPE/ EON trained
  • Mentorship qualification
  • Evidence of professional development

Desirable criteria

  • Master degree or working towards
  • Quality Improvement qualification
  • FSRH letter of competency for contraceptive implant insertion
  • Demonstrable clinical experience in all areas of Midwifery
  • Experience with DATIX incident reporting systems
  • Experience with Conflict Resolution and Complaints management
  • Excellent working knowledge of Safeguarding policy and processes
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Evidence of initiating and implementing change process
  • Experience of conducting appraisals
  • Skills/knowledge/ abilities
  • Up to date and evidence-based knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
  • Ability to demonstrate the required expertise associated with a senior midwife role including, advanced clinical skills
