Role summary
This is a Band 6 Specialist Practitioner role within the Oncology and Haematology Triage Team. Key responsibilities
- Provide specialist telephone triage, clinical assessment, and urgent support for oncology and haematology patients.
- Assess and support patients to determine the most appropriate pathway of care.
- Recognise and manage treatment-related complications and oncological emergencies.
- Work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrate excellent clinical assessment skills and sound clinical judgement.
Essential criteria
- Registered nurse: entry on part 1 or 12 of the NMC register
- Experience in an acute setting and relevant specialist experience (cancer/haematology)
- Postgraduate level study (HEI level 7) or demonstrable post graduate level working evidenced via a continuous professional development portfolio
- Demonstrates up to date knowledge and expertise in the speciality
- Able to support, mentor and supervise others
- Evidence of commitment to the Oxford University Hospitals' vision and values.
