Role summary
This is an employment-based training role for three Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioners within the Cornwall CAMHS team, based in Mid Cornwall. The role involves delivering high-quality, outcome-informed, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, and behavioural difficulties, under supervision. The successful post-holder will undertake a 12-month full-time educational programme in partnership with the University of Exeter, starting in January 2025, combining academic study with supervised practice in the service. Essential criteria
- Batchelors degree at 2:2 in any subject for entry to Postgraduate route. OR Evidence of ability to study successfully at academic Level 5 for entry to the Graduate Certificate route
- Good solid basic literacy and numeracy qualifications at a minimum of level 2
- Experience of working with children and young people, their families and others
- Proven record of previous learning or formal study in child development, wellbeing or mental health
- Skills and Aptitude
- Computer literate
- Ability to study as a self-motivated learner who can formulate their own progress towards learning objectives and negotiate pathways to achievement with supervisory teams

Job summary
We would like to recruit three Trainee Children's Wellbeing practitioners into Cornwall CAMHS team. The posts will be based in Mid Cornwall. This is an employment based training role within the forming part of a NHSE, HEE and DoH initiative to expand the metal health workforce offering support to children and young people at a stage of early intervention.
The successful post-holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering, under supervision, high-quality; outcome-informed, focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing, mild to moderate anxiety, low mood and behavioural difficulties. The training and service experience will equip the post holder with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively within the wider service.
The post holder will attend all university based taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed curriculum and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.
