Role summary

This role is for a talented and experienced Cloud Engineer to join Public Health Wales Digital Services Cloud team. You will be crucial in maintaining, optimising, and securing cloud environments and infrastructure, primarily using Azure technologies. The position involves ensuring reliability, scalability, performance, and compliance with NHS Wales security standards. You will contribute to shaping Azure cloud environments and delivering associated roadmaps and strategies for Public Health and NHS Wales.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to degree level in computer science or related field or equivalent level of knowledge and skills
  • Knowledge of data security, governance, and compliance regulations.
  • Excellent knowledge of building and configuring Azure environments.
  • Knowledge of Azure cost management tools and techniques for optimising cloud spending.

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of the technical and legislative environment specific to the NHS in Wales.
  • Recognised qualifications as a Cloud Specialist and/or equivalent certification
  • ITIL Foundation or Practitioner

We are recruiting a talented and experienced Cloud Engineer to join Public Health Wales Digital Services Cloud team. This role is crucial inmaintaining,optimisingand securing our cloud environments & infrastructure that support essential healthcare services. You will work with Azure cloud technologies, ensuring reliability, scalability and performance whilstmaintainingcompliance with NHS Wales security and governance standards.

You will be working alongside other technical service teams and report to the 365 Engineering Lead. The Cloud Engineer is a new, permanent role at Public Health Wales that will help contribute to the delivery of our cloud strategy.

Appropriate training plans will be provided for successful candidates to cloud based roles to enhance existing skills and knowledge.
