Role summary

This role involves managing, optimising, and reporting on Microsoft licensing across the Trust. A key responsibility is migrating users from Microsoft Office 365 E3 to E1 licensing, including data migration to Teams and OneDrive. Key responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all Microsoft licensing assets and monitor allocation/utilisation.
  • Identify and migrate suitable staff from E3 to E1 licensing, including creating Teams channels and migrating data.
  • Ensure compliance with Microsoft licensing requirements and maintain governance procedures.
  • Produce monthly licence utilisation reports and dashboards, providing management information to ICT leadership.
  • Support the delivery of the Trust Digital Strategy and assist with the adoption of new Microsoft technologies.
  • Provide in-person training as required and travel to Trust sites.

  • Experience of administering or supporting Microsoft 365 services and user licensing in a large organisation.
  • Experience of analysing licence allocation, utilisation or financial data and producing accurate management reports.
  • Experience of supporting users through service change, including migration, guidance and issue resolution.
  • Experience of maintaining accurate records, procedures and audit evidence.
  • Formal qualifications in Information technologyBusiness Management or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to Microsoft 365, software licensing or digital services

Job summary

The Microsoft

Licence Optimisation Officer will support and deliver the effective management,

governance, optimisation and reporting of Microsoft licensing across the Trust.

The postholder

will be responsible for ensuring that Microsoft licences are correctly

assigned, utilised and monitored to maximise value for money, ensure

compliance, support digital transformation initiatives and reduce unnecessary

expenditure.

A key element

of this role is to migrate users from Microsoft Office 365 E3 licensing to E1

licensing utilising Microsoft Teams for shared folderfile access and migrating

data from shared network drives and personal folders to secure Teams folders

and OneDrive in a timely manner, working closely with Trust staff of all

disciplines to complete the migration while providing technical solutions to

ensure the migration and use of the E1 license is successful.

The role will

provide specialist support and advice on Microsoft licensing models including

Microsoft 365, Azure, Power Platform, Copilot and associated cloud services.

The postholder will identify opportunities to reduce licensing costs, improve

utilisation, support procurement decisions and ensure that the Trust receives

maximum benefit from existing investments.
