Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Senior Nurse (Band 6) to join the Craven Learning Disabilities Team. The role involves providing specialist health and behavioral assessments and delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with SEND and complex health needs. You will work collaboratively with families and partner agencies, contributing to service development and providing clinical leadership and supervision within the team. The aim is to ensure responsive, effective, safe, and person-centred services that achieve positive outcomes for children with learning disabilities.
Essential criteria
- Current professional registration with the NMC
- Mentorship qualification e.g. SLiPS, ENB 998
- Registered Learning Disability Nurse / Registered Mental Health Nurse
- Qualified to Degree level or working towards Equivalent leadership experience
- At least 2 years post-qualification experience of working with young people and their families within the community
- Knowledge of working with children and young people with complex health needs/disabilities and their families
- Experience of managing a complex caseload where there is a high level of risk and vulnerability
- Experience of recognising and responding to safeguarding issues (adult, child, domestic abuse, CSE, missing, prevent)
- Knowledge and understanding of the EHCP process
- Able to demonstrate the application of Signs of Safety in practice
- Able to demonstrate the application of research-based practice
- Full UK driving license.
