Role summary
Join the Breast Imaging team as a Band 6 Mammographer, delivering high-quality, patient-centred breast imaging services. You will undertake mammographic imaging, support assessment and interventional procedures, and work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues. This role offers opportunities to expand specialist skills, contribute to service improvement, and provide reassurance and emotional support to patients. The ideal candidate is an experienced, enthusiastic, and compassionate professional with a PG Certificate in Mammography or equivalent.
Essential criteria
- BSc in Radiography
- Post Graduate Qualification in Mammography (or working towards)
- HCPC Registration
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of CPD
- Mammography Knowledge and Expedrience
- Experience undertaking mammography examinations, assessment clinics, knowledge of breast imaging pathways and multidisciplinary working.
- Experience undertaking interventional breast procedures.
- Clinical Governance & Quality
- Demonstrable understanding of IR(ME)R and radiation safety
- Evidence of participation in audit, QA/QC processes, risk management and service improvements
- Leadership, Teaching & Supervision
- Experience supervising staff, mentoring students, supporting service delivery, managing workload and acting as a specialist resource.
- Communication & Patient Care
- Can give examples of compassionate patient care, supporting anxious patients, teamwork and communicating complex or sensitive information effectively.

Join our dedicated Breast Imaging team as a Band 6 Mammographer and play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred breast imaging services across Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic and compassionate mammographer to develop their specialist expertise while contributing to a service that makes a real difference to patients' lives.
As a member of the team, you will undertake mammographic imaging and support a wide range of assessment and interventional procedures within a modern symptomatic breast imaging environment.
