Role summary
This specialist community nursing role involves providing assessment, treatment, education, and support to children and young people with bladder and bowel conditions across South East and South West Essex. The post holder will manage a caseload, deliver nurse-led clinics, and develop individualised care plans. It requires working closely with families, schools, and other healthcare professionals to improve continence care. The role also contributes to service development, clinical audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
Essential criteria
- RCN/Registered Nurse (child branch) or ENB998 or equivalent

- Community Specialist Practitioner Qualification.

- Ability to Travel across Trust sites as required
- Specialist Knowledge and understanding of the specialist roles of the Children and Young People's Bladder and Bowel Nurse, continence issues and the Children and Young People's Bladder and Bowel nursing team and clinic.
- Awareness and understanding of the individual needs of children in particular those with special needs
- Ability to pass on skills and knowledge to others
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Advanced communication skills course.
- Knowledge of medical and pharmacological terminology.
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Computer/IT literate skills.
- Experience of working in the community setting.
- Ability to undertake and promote evidence-based practice.
- Ability to pass on skills and knowledge to others.
- Experience of working in the Health care environment.
- Fitness analysis as appropriate.
- Good oral communication skills based on fluency of the English language.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Job summary
The Children and Young People's Bladder and Bowel Nurse Specialist (CYBBNS) is a specialist community nursing role responsible for providing specialist assessment, treatment, education, and support to children and young people with continence, bladder, and bowel conditions across South East and South West Essex. Main duties of the job
