Role summary
This is an opportunity for a Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist to join a dynamic team at Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves a unique rotational programme covering various physiotherapy experiences, including musculoskeletal, hospital in-patients, community, and mental health services. The post holder will manage a clinical caseload with supervision, providing assessments and interventions across different specialities. This role is designed to consolidate undergraduate clinical education and develop independent clinical practice.
Key responsibilities
- Undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner with supervision from senior physiotherapists.
- Be professionally and legally accountable for a designated patient caseload and decide priorities for own work area.
- Gain valid informed consent, then undertake comprehensive assessment and accurate diagnosis of patients, including those with complex presentations.
- Formulate individualised clinical management programmes, utilising a wide range of treatment skills and options.
- Provide spontaneous and planned advice, teaching, and instruction to relatives, carers, and other disciplines.
- Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to ensure co-ordination of patient care.
Essential criteria
- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy (includes pending for current students)
- HCPC registration (includes pending for current students)
- The ability to move between sites within Gloucestershire Health and Care Services and patients' residences as demanded by the job
- Broad range of clinical experience through comprehensive student placements
- Relevant clinical experience in NHS setting
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of the trust and/or local area
- Evidence of continued professional development and initiative

An opportunity has arisen to appoint a Band 5 Rotational Physiotherapist to our existing thriving Rotational Team.
GHC is a forward thinking, friendly and dynamic organisation, who are committed to supporting preceptorship and training whilst you consolidate your Physiotherapy Skills.
Our unique rotational programme covers a depth and breadth of Physiotherapy Experience including opportunities to work with the musculoskeletal team, Hospital in-patients, community and Mental Health Services.
The post holder will gain a balance of clinic, community and hospital-based caseloads. You will be required to work on a 6-month rotating basis.
You will work as part of a wider integrated team and will receive regular appraisal, training and clinical supervision as part of the preceptorship programme.****
Main duties of the job
A physiotherapist participates as a member of the Physiotherapy Team managing a clinical caseload with the support and guidance of Senior Physiotherapists. The post holder will have no budgetary responsibility but may be expected to supervise physiotherapy assistants on a day to day basis.
