Role summary
This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary Haematology team, assessing patient care needs, and implementing and evaluating care plans under the guidance of a team leader. The successful candidate will collaborate with the lead Clinical Nurse Specialist in Myeloma and staff in the Haematology Day Centre and Inpatient ward. The team is experienced and strives to deliver excellent patient care, supporting nurse-led activities and professional development.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse
- Current NMC Registration
- Educated to Degree level
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
Desirable criteria
- Independent prescriber or willing to work towards
- Non-medical referrer or (willing to work towards)
- Relevant post-registration
- Experience in the same speciality and with related post-registration qualifications
- Previous experience of working in a variety of settings
- Evidence of up to date knowledge and expertise in relevant speciality
- Teaching and assessing skills
- Specialist knowledge
- Competent in administration of parental chemotherapy
- Experience in cannulation and venepuncture
- Experience in caring for acute and terminally ill patients
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team (MDT)
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload
- Able to work flexibly to meet needs of client group
- Good counselling skills

Job summary
The successful candidate would work as part of a multidisciplinary Haematology team. They will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, implementing & evaluating care plans under the guidance of the team leader. They will work with the lead Clinical Nurse Specialist in Myeloma, the Haematology Day Centre and Inpatient ward Sister/Charge Nurse and associated staff.
Main duties of the job
We are a friendly and experienced team, who strive to deliver excellent patient care. We work closely with colleagues in the multidisciplinary team and together our objective is to ensure patients and their families receive care which is tailored to meet their individual needs. Our team is fast moving and progressive and actively support nurse led activities, offering excellent opportunities for professional and personal development.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
