Role summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join the Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. Key responsibilities
- Deliver and develop clinical pharmacy services to inpatient wards, day case, and outpatient services within the Department of Clinical Neurosciences.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of the clinical pharmacy service in response to site capacity and patient flow challenges.
- Act as a key member of multidisciplinary teams, utilising non-medical prescribing skills.
- Proactively influence prescribing practices to optimise patient care.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development.
Essential criteria
- A Master of Pharmacy Degree (or equivalent).
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
- Completed (or working towards) training or equivalent competence mapped to the RPS Post-Registration Foundation Pharmacist Curriculum.
- Experience in proactively influencing prescribing, using clinical knowledge to optimise patient care.
- A strong patient-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, enabling effective decision-making in an acute medical setting.
- A proactive attitude, with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
