Role summary
This role is for a Deputy Nursery Manager at Little Apples Nursery in Cheltenham, caring for children aged 3 months to 5 years. The successful candidate will support the Nursery Manager in running the 72-place nursery, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and promoting a stimulating environment. It involves managing time effectively for planning and developmental records, and professionally interacting with parents/guardians. The position offers NHS benefits and flexible working options.
Key responsibilities
- Meet the diverse needs of children aged 3 months to 5 years.
- Deputise for the manager in her absence and ensure compliance with Ofsted Statutory framework and other regulatory bodies.
- Adhere to Nursery Policies and actively promote good working practice, ensuring a safe, caring, and stimulating environment.
- Promote the successful implementation of the Foundation Stage through effective curriculum planning.
- Support and develop staff and students within the nursery to reach their maximum potential.
- Be room-based, supporting key children and record-keeping for approximately 80% of the week.
Essential criteria
- Must have a level 3 full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification
- Paediatric Fist Aid level 3
- Appropriate Experience with working within a nursery environment
- Good knowledge of the EYFS and Statutory Requirements
Desirable criteria
- Appropriate experience of working within a nursery setting and supporting other staff
- Safeguarding training/Designated Safeguarding lead
