Role summary
This role is for a Band 3 Maternity Care Assistant at Basildon Hospital, supporting Midwives across all areas of Maternity. - 5 GCSEs including English and Maths GCSE Grade C/4 or above
- NVQ level 3 in health and social care or equivalent

Job summary
We are seeking a Maternity Care Assistant - band 3 to join our team at our Basildon site to work across all areas of Maternity.
The appointed candidate will be responsible for supporting Midwives with providing care to women and babies and completing observations to monitor the well being of both.
You will support all areas within maternity and will require a flexible motivated person to support the service.
Main duties of the job
Level 3 Maternity Care Assistant provides direct delivery of clinical care to all women and babies accessing maternity services and may be based within specialist and integrated teams such as in theatre, fetal medicine units and community hubs.
May serve as a point of contact/support for women and their families and provide clinical, physical, psychological and emotional care and support.
Provide appropriate information and where necessary, signpost to wider support organisations. The MSW reports to registered practitioners where planned delegated care has been provided.
