Role summary
This role involves providing exercise-based support and advice to patients, delivering structured home exercise plans. Key responsibilities
- Work in partnership with AHP Suffolk physiotherapists to empower individuals to engage in healthy lifestyles.
- Monitor patients during sessions to ensure safe and appropriate exercise.
- Ensure the assigned workspace is safe and secure for staff and patients.
- Participate in delivering planned programmes of care for NHS-based treatment.
- Implement and progress treatment plans with support from clinicians and the Exercise Therapy team.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate relevant changes to referring clinicians or senior staff.
Essential criteria
- Working within a relevant job role.
- Working with members of the public from a range of ages 16 and above.
- Experience of working from a diary/appointment based system.
- Basic computer skills and a willingness to use computer based systems.
- Experience in coaching the safe and effective use of a number of common items of gym equipment without the need for additional training.
- GCSE English & Maths
- NVQ/REPs Level 3 or equivalent Fitness Qualification
- Recognized Fitness/instructing/teaching qualifications in the or relevant experience

Job summary
You will
provide exercise based support and advice to patients providing them with a structured
evidence based home exercise plan and be based between Ipswich and Felixstowe. All patients will have been through a
clinical triage process before being referred to your care. You will be treating
patients who have been diagnosed with either single or multiple health conditions
such as musculoskeletal injuries or pathology, type two diabetes, long COVID
symptoms or patients with persistent pain. Patients will be cleared from any
underlying health conditions that adversely impact their ability to complete
exercise based treatment effectively and safely by a Physiotherapist. You will
be provided with a detailed referral for each patient including their diagnosis,
goals and outcome expectations. Sessions will be predominantly class based or
if appropriate as one to one sessions.
The vacancy is 37.5 hours per week.
