Role summary
This role supports the Lead Care Coordinator and neonatal units within the London Neonatal Operational Delivery Network to implement Family Integrated Care (FiCare) initiatives. The post holder will focus on improving and enhancing family-centred care in neonatal units across a designated LMNS/ICS area. This involves working with the London Parent Advisory Group, coordinating with key staff, and fostering a culture where FiCare is embedded in daily practice. The role also assists in improving accommodation and support for parents during their baby's inpatient stay.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse, Midwife or Allied Health Professional
- Qualified in Specialty (RN/RM only)
- Educated to Degree level in relevant field
- Recognized teaching qualification or experience
- Leadership and Management Training
Desirable criteria
- FINE Foundation Toolkit certification or higher/NIDCAP certification
- Fully conversant with Microsoft Office applications
- Masters level degree or working towards
- Substantial post registration experience in relevant area and recent senior experience (min Band 6) in the field of neonatology
- Evidence of working in partnership across disciplines and organisations
- Experience in delivering family integrated care and parental support
- Experience with and evidence of commitment to teaching staff/students and parents
- Therapy staff only: Provision of neurodevelopmental therapy services in a neonatal setting
- Therapy staff only: Experience in applying a range of relevant infant/family assessment tools.
- Experience of the Bliss Baby Charter Accreditation Process
- Experience of the UNICEF Accreditation Process
- Experience in the principles of Neurodevelopmental Follow Up assessment/Programmes
- Articulate and confident in the ability to engage and participate with a wide range of healthcare professionals and parents/families in a wide range of settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including report writing and ability to deliver presentations.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the sick and well preterm and term infant and associated issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of developmental/family integrated care and evidence of being involved in its development.
- Ability to work autonomously and flexibly.
- Ability to analyse complex data.
- Understanding of change management theory and experience/involvement in change projects

Job summary
