Role summary
This role involves providing comprehensive booking and clerical support to the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Key responsibilities
- Book, amend, and confirm diagnostic appointments using NHS systems.
- Maintain accurate waiting lists and escalate patients approaching breach dates.
- Liaise with Speciality Team Leaders to ensure effective capacity usage.
- Process patient cancellations, removals, and pathway updates.
- Support validation of waiting lists, checking data accuracy and patient tracking lists.
- Handle patient and general enquiries in person, by phone, and in writing.
Essential criteria
- Must be literate and numerate to GCSE level
- NVQ 3 or equivalent
- IT Literate
- Experience of Hospital administrative systems including PAS, PACS, Radiology CRIS system
- Advanced keyboard skills
- Knowledge of general office procedures
- Reliable with a flexible attitude to the work place/working times
- Ability to prioritise workload and cope under pressure.
- Able to stay calm under difficult circumstances.
- Ability to work on own initiative within an everchanging environment.
- Strong communication skills including the ability to relate and communicate with patients and staff at all levels and from different professions.
