Role summary
This role is for a Band 3 Health Care Assistant to join the Continence Specialist Nursing Team in Northamptonshire. You will support Specialist Nurses in delivering high-quality, person-centred continence care to adults across the county. The position involves working closely with patients, carers, and other health professionals to promote dignity, wellbeing, and independence. It's a rewarding opportunity to build specialist knowledge and enhance clinical skills in continence care.
Key responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of continence assessments and personalised care plans
- Carrying out basic clinical tasks in line with competency frameworks
- Providing education, advice, and reassurance to patients and carers
- Assisting with continence product provision and reviews
- Maintaining accurate electronic patient records
- Working collaboratively within a supportive multidisciplinary team
Essential criteria
- Previous autonomous experience in a home visiting caring environment/role
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Clearly demonstratable IT skills
Desirable criteria
- Ability to deal with non-routine and unpredictable nature of workload and individual patient/service user contact.
- Understanding of practices that promote self-care management, behavior change and independent living.
- Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
- Experience of documenting on SystmOne

Are you a compassionate, proactive Health Care Assistant looking to develop your skills within a friendly and highly specialist community nursing service? Our Continence Specialist Nursing Team in Northamptonshire is expanding, and we're looking for a motivated Band 3 Health Care Assistant to join us.
About the Role
As a key member of our Continence Team, you will support Specialist Nurses in delivering high-quality, person-centred continence care to adults across Northamptonshire. You'll work closely with patients, carers, and other health professionals to promote dignity, wellbeing, and independence.
This is a rewarding opportunity to build specialist knowledge, enhance clinical skills, and contribute to improving the quality of life for people with bladder and bowel conditions.
As this role is county-wide, you will need to have a full UK driving licence along with use of a car.
