Role summary
This role involves leading manual handling training initiatives to ensure staff safety and compliance with legislative requirements at Milton Keynes University Hospital. The trainer will deliver engaging sessions, conduct training needs analysis, and provide ongoing support to minimise injury risks. They will also assist in developing and implementing policies related to manual handling and ergonomics. The position requires an enthusiastic trainer with sound knowledge of patient handling practices and equipment.
Essential criteria
- RN, AHP or equivalent professional qualification including wide, practical experience of Manual Handling
- Be registered with a related professional body such as NMC or HCPC
- Comprehensive and current knowledge of Moving and Handling risk management, assessment practical application
Desirable criteria
- A recognised moving and handling related qualification (e.g. Back Care Management) or equivalent based on National Back Exchange standards (level 3 or above)
- A teaching, coaching or training qualification (e.g. PTTLs)
- Current member of the National Back Exchange (NBE)
- Qualifications & Knowledge
