Role summary
This is an exciting full-time permanent opportunity for a specialist occupational therapist to join the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust inpatient service at Millview Court. It is a developmental post, welcoming Band 5 OTs with potential to progress to Band 6 through a preceptorship programme. The role involves providing evidence-based OT assessments and treatment plans for adults experiencing mental health crises, working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate will contribute to service improvement and provide clinical supervision.
Essential criteria
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registration with the HCPC
- Specialist knowledge of occupational therapy models of practice, standardised assessments, and their use in practice
- Knowledge and understanding of the evidence-based relevant to the clinical area
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of current CPD/formal qualifications at an advanced level e.g. degree or post graduate level or equivalent knowledge/experiential learning
- Full understanding/application of relevant clinical practice/standards/audit within identified clinical area
- Understanding of caseload management clinical responsibilities
- Willingness to complete Preceptorship Program
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to the clinical area
- Skills and competencies
- Requirement of frequent concentration e.g., assessments, care plans
- Ability to commute between the various sites
- Able to demonstrate effective inter-personal/communication skills
- Awareness of leadership/management skills and qualities

Job summary
There has been an exciting opportunity for a full time specialist occupational therapist to join the Humber teaching NHS foundation trust inpatient service based at Millview Court treatment ward.
This is a 5 to 6 development post, and will be subject to a probationary period for new staff. We welcome applications from Band 5 OTs with the potential to progress to Band 6 through a preceptorship and competency-based development programme.
Millview Court is a 15 bedded mixed-sex ward, based in Cottingham, and provides 24 hour care to adults experiencing a crisis in their mental health.
We are looking for a motivated, compassionate individual, the successful candidate will be required to have the specialist level of experience, knowledge, and clinical skills to conduct evidence-based OT Assessments and Treatment plans to promote the service user's occupational identity and performance skills to enable their recovery.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, provide clinical supervision to coordinate and develop the therapeutic activities offered across the service, as well as being a part of the OT inpatient Hub supporting and promoting positive changes across the services.
