Role summary
The South East Neonatal Network is seeking part-time Network Educators to support the delivery of the Qualified in Specialty (QIS) Programme and other educational initiatives across the region. This role involves influencing education and workforce development at a regional level, supporting learners, educators, and services to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate neonatal care. You will contribute to the design, delivery, and evaluation of education programmes, working collaboratively with neonatal units and Higher Education Institutions. The position is home-based but requires regular travel throughout the South East.
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse (Adult or Child) on Part 1 of the NMC Register or Registered Midwife
- Professional knowledge acquired through degree education or equivalent experience
- Mentoring / coaching / education qualification to postgraduate diploma level or equivalent evidence of supporting learners in practice
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Significant experience within relevant field
- Neonatal Qualified in Specialty Qualification
- Neonatal Life Support Qualification
- Experience of educating others in a formal or informal setting
- Broad awareness of Trust initiatives/pressures
- Experience of undertaking clinical audit
Desirable criteria
- Education at a master's degree level
- Further education at a master's degree level in relevant practice area
- Leadership qualification or significant equivalent experience
- Previous Band 6 experience
- Further evidence of speciality competence
- Evidence of nursing practice development and management of change
- Research awareness/experience
- Stress management or counselling course
- Knowledge of undergraduate education
- Knowledge of apprenticeship education
- Knowledge of current healthcare support worker / nursing associate education
- Knowledge of the wider healthcare agenda
- Qualifications, knowledge and experience
