Role summary

This role is for an enthusiastic Clinic Pathway Coordinator to join the Audiology Department. The successful candidate will manage patient pathways, ensuring timely treatment and adherence to waiting list principles. Responsibilities include managing clinics to maximum capacity, outcomeing activity, and proactively managing patient tasks using the HIVE electronic patient record system. The role may also involve contributing to front-of-house reception services.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure patients are seen/treated in a timely manner according to waiting list principles and Trust Access Policy.
  • Manage clinics to maximum capacity, escalating shortfalls as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
  • Outcome and action all clinic activity promptly to prevent unnecessary open registrations.
  • Review patient task lists and proactively manage patient pathways using the HIVE electronic patient record system.
  • Contribute to the provision and smooth running of a front of house / reception service, potentially involving staff supervision.

Essential criteria

  • Educated to GCSE level - English and Maths or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience of working with the public
  • Previous reception experienc
  • Knowledge or a range of general reception and office procedures
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office applications
  • Organisational Skills
  • Evidence of using own initiative
  • Tactful and diplomatic
  • Willingness to undertake training
  • The ability to remain calm and professional under pressure

Desirable criteria

  • ECDL/NVQ or other appropriate qualifications
  • Previous reception or clerical experience within a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of IT scheduling systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
