Role summary

This role is for an experienced nurse leader to become a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse on Ward 26, a regional Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre. You will provide clinical and operational leadership, ensuring high standards of patient care, safety, and quality. Responsibilities include leading and developing nursing staff, managing ward operations, and driving continuous quality improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to advance this specialist regional service.

Essential criteria

  • *Registered Adult Nurse on NMC register.
  • *Completion of relevant post registration course or experience e.g. Respiratory
  • *Evidence of Mentorship training

Desirable criteria

  • * Evidence or working towards Health care management / Leadership Qualification
  • *Evidence or working towards teaching/education module
  • *Professional Portfolio which demonstrates continuing professional development, evidence of ability to maintain professional registration
  • *Substantial relevant and recent clinical experience within a complex health care setting or Acute NHS setting working as a deputy Manager Band 6 position including the supervision and education of junior staff/ students .
  • *Can demonstrate understanding / experience / in practice based supervision / assessment as detailed in the Nursing & Midwifery Council ( NMC ) standards for student supervision and assessment
  • *Demonstrable current, recent experience of team leadership and management within the healthcare setting.
  • *Demonstrable understanding of the management responsibility for pay and non-pay resources associated with the clinical service.
  • *Evidence of effective multi-professional working.
  • *Experience of being a mentor
  • *Demonstration of a significant contribution to innovative practice or change management
  • *Experience in interviewing and selection of staff
  • *Experience in learning from incidents /complaints and supporting changes in practice
