Role summary
This role is for an Epic Credentialed Trainer, ideally with experience in training inpatient nurses and allied health professionals. The post is a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, starting in October 2026. Responsibilities include delivering end-user training on Epic systems, maintaining training curriculum documents, and providing ongoing support to Epic users. The trainer will also participate in the Trust's Epic Thrive Programme and assist with troubleshooting the training environment.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver Epic Induction Training Courses and ad hoc courses to GOSH employees.
- Work with EPR Configuration teams to update training packages reflecting system builds.
- Act as an expert in training workflows, troubleshooting problems and answering end-user questions.
- Deliver training packages and workflows in an easy-to-understand format to individuals and groups.
- Ensure end-users receive appropriate access and security levels to the EPR system.
- Log training or workflow issues and liaise with EPR colleagues for resolution.

- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Certification in at least one Epic application
- Configuration accreditation and experience as a Credentialed Trainer for at least one Epic application
- Knowledge of a specific clinical subject area relating to an EPR

- Proven experience in supporting the use of technology in teaching and learning
- Experience of providing education or learning within NHS or healthcare setting
- Experience of developing Epic training material
- Understanding of clinical, administrative and/or operational workflows and processes within a hospital environment

- Experience working with different media an file formats including video
- Excellent organisation and planning skills
- Attentive to details and able to accurately and appropriately record data

- Intermediate knowledge of IT systems and software programmes such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Articulate Storyline/Articulate 360 (or similar)
- Able to prioritise tasks to achieve deadlines whilst working under pressure and with frequent interruptions
- The ability to maintain a professional approach and always demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills (organisation and communication)
- Ability to impart knowledge and/or present to others in a clear and concise manner

Desirable criteria
- Certification of Education or other relevant training qualification
- Training certificate or equivalent in digital learning design and authoring tools
- Producing eLearning materials and associate support services
- Experience of supporting change management
- Experience of using design software (eg. Articulate Storyline/Articulate 360 or similar)
- Experience leading in the development process of eLearning from planning to release
- Good analytical and project management skills

Job summary
We are looking for an Epic Credentialed Trainer, ideally with experience in training inpatient nurses and allied health professionals in an inpatient and outpatient setting.
